This document applies to all users of the LumiOre AI Learning Platform. By using the Platform, the Parent/Guardian agrees to be bound by these terms on behalf of the Student.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. They allow the Platform to remember information about your visit, such as your login status and preferences, and help LumiOre understand how the Platform is being used.

Similar technologies include web beacons, pixel tags, and local storage objects, which function in analogous ways and are covered by this Policy.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. They enable core features such as user authentication, session management, and security. Without these cookies, the Platform cannot operate. These cookies do not require your consent and cannot be disabled. Examples include:

  • Session identifier cookies that keep you logged in during a Platform session.
  • Security tokens that protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF).

2.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies allow the Platform to remember your preferences and settings, such as your chosen language, account settings, and the subjects enrolled for each Student. They improve your experience but are not essential to the Platform's core operation. Disabling these cookies may affect personalisation features.

2.3 Analytics Cookies

These cookies help LumiOre understand how users interact with the Platform in aggregate, anonymised form. Analytics data is used to improve Platform features, identify technical issues, and understand usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics reports.

LumiOre uses analytics tools that may set their own cookies. These tools are configured to anonymise IP addresses and to comply with the PDPA.

2.4 No Advertising or Third-Party Marketing Cookies

LumiOre does not use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking cookies, or third-party marketing cookies on the Platform:

  • No Student data is used for advertising profiling.
  • No third-party advertisers are permitted to set cookies through the Platform.

3. How Long Cookies Are Stored

4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

4.1 Cookie Consent Banner

When you first access the Platform, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies (functional and analytics cookies). Strictly necessary cookies are set regardless of your choice, as they are required for the Platform to function.

4.2 Browser Settings

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Please note that blocking certain cookies may impair the functionality of the Platform. For guidance on managing cookies in your browser, please visit the help pages of your browser provider.

4.3 Withdrawing Consent

You may withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time by adjusting your cookie settings within the Platform's account settings, or by contacting support@lumiore.ai.

5. Third-Party Services

Certain third-party services integrated with the Platform (such as our payment gateway and analytics provider) may set their own cookies. These third-party cookies are governed by the respective privacy and cookie policies of those providers. LumiOre selects third-party providers that comply with applicable data protection laws and does not permit third parties to use cookies for advertising purposes on the Platform.

6. Children and Cookies

LumiOre applies particular care to the use of cookies in respect of Student users aged 6 to 16:

  • We do not use cookies to build behavioural profiles of children for commercial purposes.
  • Analytics cookies, where used, collect only anonymised and aggregated data.
  • All cookie practices in respect of children's data comply with the PDPA and LumiOre's Child Safety Policy.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

LumiOre may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Cookie Policy.

8. Contact Us

For questions about this Cookie Policy or our use of cookies, please contact support@lumiore.ai.
